Walls of Gratitude

What are you thankful for?

Many people wonder how I am able to stay so positive all the time, even in the face of really sad or difficult situations. My biggest secret in the fight against hopelessness has been finding and keeping and appreciating “TOKENS OF ENCOURAGEMENT” – these are any gift, creation or physical object that has a sentimental or emotional meaning behind it. These TOEs are essentially hope, and my big idea to share with all of you is: create a physical space somewhere in your life (it could be in an office or in your home or in the neighborhood) where you and others can safely put these hopeful items for all to see. By having them in regular eyesight it prevents having thoughts of giving up and it also gives an entire wall of reminders and stories of why we should keep working and trying so hard. It also allows us to look at physical objects differently acknowledging the spirit and emotion that is contained within. I am so grateful to have had opportunities to give others tokens of encouragement, and as you can see from the image above, have been the fortunate recipient of many toes as well. Each object is a story and a reminder of why I must keep going no matter how tired I feel, what how cold it gets.

I am grateful for this opportunity to be grateful, thank you for reading this and please – spread the word. So put your TOEs on the wall and let’s get started today!

Humility & Love
