Over the weekend, I was contacted by a teacher from Oak Park who said her students wanted to do something pro-actively about racism in our schools.
These youth leaders have decided to reach out to their peers, and thanks to the leadership of the Oak Park Student Council, students from 10 high schools will be meeting later today. I am so impressed and have been emailing with the Oak Park President and cannot wait to see what happens. If we are gonna turn racism into resolve, we have to include the voices of our young people. Look at this one example, I’m confident there will be more.
